SPL Neos. The World’s First 120 Volts Console

Tuesday April 5, 2011. 02:02 PM, by d-cipher MusikMesse 2011 > Audio Hardware > Sound Performance Lab
Audio Hardware : SPL Neos. The World’s First 120 Volts Console - pcmusicCompared to standard console designs, Neos' operational voltage is increased fourfold. More power results in higher overall performance: • more than 30 dB input overload resistance • 125 dB dynamic range, 100 dB S/N ratio
Why is most award-winning audio mixed analog?
Common digital specification is 24 Bit/96 kHz. 24 Bit provides sufficient dynamic resolution, but in mixing, 96 kHz is far from being sufficient on the time scale. A resolution adequate to our hearing capabilities would require sample rates of around 500 kHz. Therefore, those small signal structures carrying spatial and localizational information are lost in digital mixing – while analog equipment overshoots these demands.
